Should This Even Be Allowed? Diane Abbott, Israel, And What The Bible Says

Should This Even Be Allowed
Should This Even Be Allowed

The title of my blog post and YouTube video today is “Should this even be allowed?” In this post, I want to talk about something that caught my attention recently—a tweet from David Vance showing Diane Abbott sitting in Parliament wearing a keffiyeh-style scarf. The tweet read, “How is this even allowed?” and my video poses a similar question: “Should this even be allowed?”

The keffiyeh, traditionally associated with Palestinian identity, has become a common symbol at pro-Palestinian marches, especially those opposing Israel. So when a sitting MP appears in Parliament wearing such a symbol, it naturally raises eyebrows—especially when we consider the UK’s Christian heritage. Whether or not we still act on those Christian values is debatable, but I believe we should.

The focus of this discussion is not political opinion but what the Bible actually says. Scripture provides a clear view of God’s covenant with Israel and His promises concerning the land. These are not modern interpretations, but timeless truths found throughout the Word of God.

What the Bible Says About Israel and the Land

Genesis 15:18 – “On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram and said, ‘To your descendants I give this land, from the Wadi of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates.’”

Genesis 17:7–8 – “I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you… The whole land of Canaan, where you now reside as a foreigner, I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you; and I will be their God.”

Genesis 21:12 – “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.”

Genesis 28:13–14 – “I am the Lord, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying. All peoples on earth will be blessed through you and your offspring.”

Leviticus 25:23 – “The land must not be sold permanently, because the land is mine and you reside in my land as foreigners and strangers.”

Ezekiel 36:24 – “For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land.”

Isaiah 11:11–12 – “The Lord will reach out his hand a second time to reclaim the surviving remnant of his people… He will assemble the scattered people of Judah from the four quarters of the earth.”

Joel 3:2 – “I will gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will put them on trial for… dividing up my land.”

Psalm 132:13–14 – “For the Lord has chosen Zion, he has desired it for his dwelling, saying, ‘This is my resting place forever and ever; here I will sit enthroned, for I have desired it.’”

Romans 11:1–2 – “Did God reject his people? By no means!… God did not reject his people, whom he foreknew.”

Genesis 12:3 – “I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

The Gospel Message

This video also contains a call to salvation. Jesus Christ came to set captives free. If you’ve never invited Him into your life, you can pray and believe today. Jesus offers eternal life to all who call on His name. If you genuinely believe and turn from wrongdoing, He will set you free and the Holy Spirit will dwell in you.

Here is a simple prayer: “Dear Lord Jesus, I acknowledge you as Lord and Savior of my life. I repent of all my sins and I ask you today to take over complete control of every aspect of my life. Amen.”

If you prayed that prayer and meant it, you have the promise of eternal life and so much more. The Bible says, “Call on the name of the Lord and you will be saved.”

Final Thoughts

Many people get lost in politics or public outrage, but the Word of God cuts through the noise. The Bible clearly supports the land of Israel as God’s chosen possession for His people. These promises haven’t changed. This is about returning to biblical truth, not political preference.
