Arrested Again for Praying

Arrested Again For Praying!
Arrested Again For Praying!

In my thumbnail photograph today, I have the title “Arrested Again for Praying.” I don’t know when it was, but a few weeks ago, I created a video entitled “British Veteran Arrested for Thought Crime,” which is hard to believe, especially when it’s a veteran. But the other day, I came across this on Calvin Robinson’s Twitter profile, and I think it was also on some other profiles. It’s talking about Isabelle Vaughan Spruce, who the police have given a fixed penalty notice. She was clearly not protesting, not harassing anyone, and clearly causing no harm, just arrested silently for praying. I find it very sad when people lose their freedom. The United Kingdom is a Christian country, politicians should respect that and remember that the Christian principles helped to make Great Britain, “Great”!

Arrested For Praying

I won’t play the video; it’s about 2 minutes and 19 seconds long. It’s a bit pathetic, to be fair. You know, someone just praying outside an abortion clinic, doing no harm, and she’s arrested. But then, as David Vance put up on Twitter the other day, he put up this picture. Let me make it smaller so you can see the contrast. In this picture, no arrests were made. They’re all praying. I can’t see any policemen there, but they’re all outside Parliament, in the road, blocking the road, praying. Yet this lady here, she’s not allowed to pray outside an abortion clinic. So, it’s very sad that our world has come to this.

As a Christian, I’m thankful that we know what’s coming, but our hope is in Jesus, and we don’t look at the circumstances; we look to the cross and the finished work of the Cross and what God can do. Since COVID, the world has gone mad, and we’re just not seeing any normality; it’s more of a clown world. But when we come to the word, and if we look in 2 Timothy 3:1-7, it says perilous times and perilous men.

Know this, that in the last days, perilous times will come, for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people, turn away. For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women, loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

This is kind of where I know I’ve read this passage quite a few times in other videos, but it’s so true. It seems like the times we’re living in are perilous, and if you’re not a Christian or if I wasn’t a Christian, I would be rather fearful about what’s going on. But because the Bible gives us the truth of what’s going to happen in the end times, which I believe we’re going into, I have peace about it. My destination isn’t for this Earth; it’s for heaven. For those who believe in Him, there’s a place for us in heaven.

We Go By What The Bible Says

If we look at Revelation 2:10, it’s about the persecuted church, and it says, “Do not fear any of these things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.” Keep the faith, drop any fear, and stay strong.

In Daniel 12:4, it’s always a chapter or a verse that’s fascinated me. But you, Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book until the time of the end. Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase. That last bit, “knowledge shall increase,” shows how much knowledge and technology have grown. We’ve seen the rise of the internet and AI, which is massive. I don’t entirely agree with AI; it can be used sensibly but can also be used for evil. Sadly, probably the wrong people will get hold of AI.

But that’s another story and it shows how technology has grown. We’re seeing ridiculous things happening like this lady being arrested and so forth. Yet we rest in God’s presence, knowing that He is for us, not against us. We have a place in heaven for those who believe.

Ephesians 6 talks about the whole armor of God. Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the whole armor of God that you may be able to withstand in the evil day. Having done all, to stand.

Earlier today, I was reading a book called “The Present Glory” by Rodney Howard Brown. It emphasizes Jesus dying for our sins and the amazing work He did on the cross, saying, “It is finished.” I can seriously recommend this book; it’s uplifting and filled with hope. It’s not a particularly long book, and I read it over Christmas. It’s definitely worth the read.

Maybe you’re not a Christian, but you’re concerned about what’s going on and wonder why all this is happening. We were warned in the Bible that the world would go a bit mad in the last days. But for those of us who believe, there is a way out. If you don’t believe, there’s still a way out if you believe in your heart that Jesus died on the cross and rose on the first day.

You can have a fresh start and be given the gift of eternal life. If you’d like to say this prayer after me, which reads: “Dear Lord Jesus, I acknowledge you as Lord and Savior of my life. I repent of all my sins and ask you today to take over complete control of every aspect of my life. Amen.” If you said that prayer and meant it, it’s important to get into a good church that preaches the whole gospel. Find a church that teaches solid biblical truth.

There are some churches that water down the truth, but we want solid, biblical truth. Get into a small group; it can help as well. I’m in a men’s praying group and a Zoom Bible study group. Then, I have a small church I attend. Just make sure you find the right church. If you have any questions on this video, I’m here to help.
