Preacher Attacked in Bristol — Police Threaten to Arrest the Victim

Preacher Attacked – Police Threaten To Arrest Him!

The title on my thumbnail today is, Preacher attacked in Bristol – please threaten to arrest the victim. Today I’m covering the troubling story of a Christian street preacher in Bristol who was attacked by a mob while his wife was also targeted — yet police threatened to arrest him for a public order offence. Meanwhile, the attackers walked away. Sadly, this is the kind of story mainstream media often ignores.

I first came across this via posts on social media, including commentary from Peter Sweden. The account describes how the pastor was preaching about the differences between Christianity and Islam — a topic that clearly offended some passersby — and the situation quickly escalated.

What reportedly happened

  • A Christian pastor in Bristol preached on the street about the difference between Christianity and Islam.
  • One bystander allegedly threatened to stab the preacher; another reportedly tried to hit his wife.
  • Men then tried to pin him to the ground and attempted to snatch the Quran he was holding, claiming it as their book.
  • When police arrived, they warned the preacher that he could be arrested for a public order offence. A senior officer later said he would not be arrested — but the attackers were not detained at the scene.

Why this matters

Christians are called to be peaceable and gracious — but not to be walked over. We are commanded to stand firm in faith and truth. Street preaching has a long history in Britain and should be protected alongside other expressions in a free society.

Scriptures on Standing Firm (NKJV)

Standing Firm in Faith

Ephesians 6:13–14 — “Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness.”

1 Corinthians 16:13 — “Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.”

Philippians 1:27–28 — “Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel, and not in any way terrified by your adversaries…”

Standing for Truth and Righteousness

2 Thessalonians 2:15 — “Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle.”

2 Timothy 4:7 — “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

Acts 4:19–20 — “But Peter and John answered and said to them, ‘Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.’”

Courage Under Persecution

Matthew 10:22 — “And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.”

Romans 8:31 — “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”

Hebrews 13:6 — “So we may boldly say: ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?’”

A note on Britain’s direction

Moments like this force us to ask hard questions about where the country is heading and whose values are shaping public life. For more, see:

The Gospel invitation

If you’re not yet a Christian, know this: Jesus died a painful death on the cross and rose again so that we could have the wonderful gift of eternal life. Salvation isn’t about our works — it’s about the finished work of Christ. When we truly believe and repent, we receive forgiveness and new life.

A prayer you can pray:

Dear Lord Jesus, I acknowledge You as Lord and Saviour of my life. I repent of all my sins, and I ask You today to take over complete control of every aspect of my life. Amen.
