The title of my blog post and video today is, Is there a revolt coming? Across the UK, tensions are rising. Many are asking whether we are heading toward a revolt—or even a revolution. In this post I reflect on a wave of tweets and reports circulating on X (Twitter), including commentary and retweets from Elon Musk, and I consider what a Christian response looks like when our national foundations feel shaky. It appears that the people of the United Kingdom are finally waking up, it does seem like it’s taken some time, but now it’s happening!
Is it a “Revolt” or a “Revolution”?
Language matters. A revolt usually describes serious unrest or resistance against authority; a revolution suggests overturning the system itself. Wherever you land on those words, it’s clear that many British people feel unheard, unsafe, and frustrated with policies affecting faith, speech, borders, and community life.
What I’m Seeing on X (Twitter)
I referenced multiple tweets that highlight the growing unease: questions about free speech (why some literature is welcome while public Gospel preaching can be penalised), the treatment of the Union Jack compared to other flags, and public anger over crime stories linked to migrants. Elon Musk’s feed has amplified much of this debate, retweeting commentary from accounts like David Vance and Tommy Robinson. Whether you agree with every voice or not, the concerns are real for many ordinary families.
It’s not my aim to sensationalise. Rather, I want to name the concerns, acknowledge the pain behind them, and then ask: How should Christians respond?
We are being driven into a Caliphate and we must say enough. https://t.co/jqvlYYVjBo

A Christian Response: Stand Firm
Britain has been shaped by Christian principles that still work today. When public life feels unsteady, Scripture calls us to stand firm—courageously and calmly—in the truth.
1 Corinthians 16:13 (NKJV)
“Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.”
Ephesians 6:13–14 (NKJV)
“Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness.”
Philippians 1:27 (NKJV)
“Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel.”
2 Thessalonians 2:15 (NKJV)
“Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle.”
1 Peter 5:8–9 (NKJV)
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.”
These verses don’t call us to rage, but to resolve: sober-minded vigilance, unity, and courage. We contend for truth while remembering our battle is ultimately spiritual.
Hope, Salvation, and Our Final Destination
The heart of the Christian message is not fear, but hope. Jesus died and rose again to give eternal life to all who believe. Since the rebirth of Israel in May 1948, many believers have reflected on biblical prophecy and the times we live in. Whatever unfolds, our peace rests in Christ.
If you have never received Jesus as Lord and Saviour, consider praying:
“Dear Lord Jesus, I acknowledge You as Lord and Saviour of my life. I repent of all my sins. I ask You today to take over complete control of every aspect of my life. Amen.”
If you prayed that sincerely, I’d love to hear from you in the comments.
