Does the Church of England Support Palestine?

Today, I’m discussing an article from the Church of England’s press releases titled, “Palestinian statehood – comment from Church of England bishops.”

The article reports that the Archbishop of York, together with bishops from Southwark, Gloucester, Chelmsford, and Norwich,
responded to the Prime Minister’s announcement about the possibility of recognising a Palestinian state.

Why This Matters Biblically

If you’re a Christian, you should know that the Bible makes it very clear that the land belongs to Israel. Yet, the bishops are calling for
recognition of a Palestinian state, which directly contradicts God’s Word.

Concerns About Gaza and Aid

The bishops also welcomed the government’s call for a ceasefire in Gaza and aid delivery. While the suffering in Gaza is tragic,
much of what we hear in the media doesn’t line up with the facts. I recently made a video on aid getting into Gaza. Food is getting through,
but some of it is being stopped by the UN itself. This is rarely reported.

Political Reactions

Boris Johnson stated in the Daily Mail that recognition of Palestine is more about the Muslim vote in the UK than about genuine concern for Gaza.
I agree with this assessment. Similarly, the Daily Telegraph noted that such recognition doesn’t address Hamas or Israel directly,
but instead seeks to appease political groups in Britain.

What Does the Bible Say About Israel’s Land?

Scripture is very clear about God’s covenant with Israel. Here are some key verses:

Genesis 17:7-8

“And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant,
to be God to you and your descendants after you. Also I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger,
all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.”

Leviticus 25:23

“The land shall not be sold permanently, for the land is Mine; for you are strangers and sojourners with Me.”

Joel 3:2

“I will also gather all nations, and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will enter into judgment with them there
on account of My people, My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; they have also divided up My land.”

Amos 9:14-15

“I will bring back the captives of My people Israel; they shall build the waste cities and inhabit them; they shall plant vineyards and drink wine
from them; they shall also make gardens and eat fruit from them. I will plant them in their land, and no longer shall they be pulled up from the land
I have given them,” says the Lord your God.”

Ezekiel 37:21-22

“Then say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God: Surely I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, wherever they have gone,
and will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land; and I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel;
and one king shall be king over them all.’”

Jeremiah 31:35-36

“Thus says the Lord, Who gives the sun for a light by day, The ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night, Who disturbs the sea,
And its waves roar (The Lord of hosts is His name): ‘If those ordinances depart From before Me,’ says the Lord,
‘Then the seed of Israel shall also cease From being a nation before Me forever.’”

A Call to Faith

If you are not a Christian and are wondering what is happening in today’s world, know that Jesus died a painful death on the cross so that you
could have the gift of eternal life. The Bible tells us these things would happen, but there is hope in Christ.

If you’d like to give your life to Jesus, you can pray this simple prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus, I acknowledge You as Lord and Savior of my life. I repent of all my sins and ask You today to take complete control of every
aspect of my life. Amen.

If you prayed that prayer and meant it, the Bible says you are now born again and can look forward to the gift of eternal life.
