Today, in my blog post and video, I want to share a bit about how to accept Jesus Christ today and how I came to Christ.
This is a little bit different to some of my usual posts, but it may be the most important thing I ever publish. I’m not talking about being “religious” or simply going to church. I’m talking about genuine salvation — a life-changing decision that affects your life now and your eternity.
Many people have tried the world’s way and are starting to realise it isn’t working. People put hope in politicians, movements, money, pleasure, or “the next big thing” — and yet the emptiness remains. Good leadership can help a nation, but only one person gives eternal life, and that is Jesus Christ.
The Bible says Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. That means His offer of salvation is still real, still powerful, and still available today.
My Testimony: How I Came To Christ
I’ll keep this part fairly short, but I want to share it because it helps explain what salvation really is.
I had an advantage in life because I was brought up in a loving Christian family. I had a happy upbringing. We didn’t have loads of things, but we had a secure home and parents who genuinely believed in Jesus and tried to bring us up in the right way.
However, as a teenager I started to drift. I began to think there must be more to life than Christianity. It seemed like Christians had more problems and the world had more fun. It also didn’t help that my parents were in a church affected by a split, and the atmosphere felt cold. Looking back, I think it put me off because there wasn’t much warmth attached to the Word of God — and there should be.
So I gradually drifted away, and I didn’t want anything to do with Christianity. It didn’t make sense to me. I couldn’t understand how people could sit around a table, go to church, and talk about Jesus all day.
But here is the key point: I didn’t realise that I wasn’t born again.
The Missing Piece: “You Must Be Born Again”
Jesus said something to Nicodemus that is absolutely central to salvation:
John 3:3 (NKJV): “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
This explains so much. If a person has not been born again, they cannot truly see or grasp the kingdom of God in the way Jesus meant. You can hear Christian language, watch Christian content, attend services, and still not “get it” in your spirit. The new birth is not a religious idea. It is a real spiritual change that God does inside a person.

When I Started To Wake Up
In my early 30s I started to think: there has to be more to life than working hard, playing hard, and then we die. That didn’t sound right, and deep down I knew it couldn’t be the whole story.
So I started to think about church — and it took me about two years to actually go. When I finally did, it felt strange at first. It was a Pentecostal church. People were lifting their hands and speaking in tongues. I wasn’t used to that at all. But something also felt right. I can’t explain it any better than that: strange, but right.
That church, honestly, was one of the most unfriendly churches I had ever been in — but God even used that. It made me determined to be the sort of Christian who notices newcomers and speaks to them. Many people walk into a church for the first time with nerves and questions, and a simple friendly face can matter more than we realise.
I kept going back week after week, and then the church ran an Alpha course. That was a turning point for me because I had many questions, and Alpha gave me space to ask them. You have meals together, you meet people, you talk things through. It helped me.
I also want to mention Christianity Explored, which many people find very helpful too. The point is not the brand name of the course — the point is getting around the gospel, hearing the truth, and having your questions answered.
When I Finally Accepted Jesus
After the course, I finally accepted Jesus Christ, and I can honestly say it has been life-changing.
Once you begin to learn who your Saviour is, what the Bible says about you, who you are in Christ, and what prayer can do through the power of the Holy Spirit, you start to realise Christianity is not a dead religion. It is living faith in a living Saviour.
Jesus said:
John 14:6 (NKJV): “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
That statement is either true or it isn’t. But if it is true, it changes everything. The wonderful thing is that the truth of Jesus does not bind you; it sets you free.
Why Many People Don’t Want To Come To Jesus
Over the years I’ve spoken to many people about faith, and there are a few common reasons people resist Christ.
1) Some people think it’s a fairy tale
They hear the gospel and think it is too good to be true. In a way, I understand that reaction — especially when people have only heard a watered-down, confusing, or overly religious version of Christianity.
2) People don’t want to surrender control
This is a big one. Most of us, by nature, like to stay in control. But the safest place a person can ever be is surrendered to Jesus. When Christ becomes Lord, you stop carrying the burden of trying to be your own saviour.
3) Some people love sin, or use it as escape
Sin can offer temporary pleasure, distraction, or escapism — but it never gives lasting peace. Deep down, people know that coming to Christ means turning away from the things God calls sin, and they don’t want that confrontation.
4) People get offended by the Bible’s standards
Our culture says, “If it feels right, do it.” The Bible says God is truth. That can offend people, especially when their lifestyle doesn’t line up with Scripture.
But here is the reality: God’s commands are not there to ruin your life — they are there to lead you to life.
Why People Are Starting To Wake Up
One of the reasons I made this video (and this post) is because I see something happening. People who previously had no interest in Christianity are starting to wake up.
Many are seeing that politics alone cannot fix the deeper issues in society. Politicians promise a lot, but often deliver little. Movements rise and fall. Culture shifts constantly. But the gospel remains the same — and Jesus remains the same.
We are living in days where the world’s foundations are being shaken, and when that happens, people start asking the bigger questions: “What is truth?” “What happens when I die?” “Is there any real hope?”

“No Condemnation”: What Happens When You Say Yes To Jesus
One of my favourite chapters in the Bible is Romans 8. It is full of hope and certainty for the believer.
Romans 8:1–2 (NKJV): “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.”
When you genuinely come to Christ, you are forgiven. You are not put on probation, you are not condemned, but you are made free. This is why salvation is not a temporary decision. It is eternal.
What Does Repentance And Being Born Again Actually Mean?
People sometimes overcomplicate the gospel, but at its heart it is simple.
- Recognise you are a sinner and that you need a Saviour.
- Believe that Jesus died for your sins and rose again.
- Repent — turn away from sin and turn to God.
- Trust Jesus fully, not your own goodness.
- Receive new life through the Holy Spirit.
This is what it means to be born again: God gives you a new life from above. You cannot manufacture it. You receive it.
A Simple Salvation Prayer
If you have read this far, or you watched the video, you may have clicked for a reason.
If you are ready to receive Jesus Christ today, you can pray something like this. The exact wording is not magic — what matters is that you mean it from the heart.
Prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus,
I acknowledge You as Lord and Saviour of my life.
I repent of all my sins.
I ask You today to take complete control of every aspect of my life.
Amen.
If you prayed that sincerely, the Bible teaches that you have taken a real step. You can begin your Christian life knowing that God has heard you, forgiven you, and that the Holy Spirit can come and live within you.
What To Do Next
It is important to say this clearly: saying yes to Jesus is the beginning, not the end. We need to grow, we need to learn Scripture, we need strong fellowship.
- Find a good Bible-believing church where Jesus is honoured and the Bible is taught.
- Get discipled — be around mature Christians who can help you grow.
- Start reading the Bible (the Gospel of John is a very good place to begin).
- Pray daily — not religious words, but honest conversation with God.
