The title of my blog post and video today is entitled, “Is This The Face Of Evil?” A widely shared video shows a UK politician speaking about population growth, the legalisation of abortion, advocacy for contraception, the growth of homosexuality, and climate change. This article offers a Christian response grounded in Scripture. For clarity and fairness, the speaker is not named here.
What Was Said
The clip suggests that modern policies and cultural shifts have reduced the number of children that might otherwise have been born, and implies that a larger population would have made climate challenges worse. The argument effectively celebrates anything that prevents life and frames it as a necessary good.
A Biblical Response
1) God’s Provision Is Steady
The Bible teaches that God sustains His creation. Seasons, seedtime and harvest continue by His providence. This does not excuse waste or poor stewardship, but it rejects despair and fatalism.
Genesis 8:22 — “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease.”
Psalm 145:15–16 — “The eyes of all look expectantly to You, and You give them their food in due season. You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing.”
Wow. This is the face of evil. Literally celebrating anything that stops life. https://t.co/qoJHLkk51N

2) Life in the Womb Is Known by God
Human life bears God’s image from the earliest moments. To celebrate the prevention or ending of life is incompatible with the Christian understanding of human dignity.
Jeremiah 1:5 — “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you.”
Psalm 139:13–14 — “For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb… I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
3) God’s Design for Morality
Scripture presents a moral order for our good, including God’s design for sexuality. Christians are called to speak truth with compassion, holding grace and holiness together.
Romans 1:26–27 — a sober warning about abandoning God’s design.
4) Speak Up and Care for the Vulnerable
Christian witness is not only about what we oppose but also about whom we serve. We defend the voiceless and care for those in need.
Proverbs 31:8–9 — “Open your mouth for the speechless… judge righteously.”
James 1:27 — “Pure and undefiled religion… to visit orphans and widows in their trouble.”
A Simple Gospel Invitation
Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). If you would like to begin a new life with Christ, pray sincerely:
“Lord Jesus, I acknowledge You as Lord and Saviour. I repent of my sins and ask You to take control of my life. Amen.”
