Only a Miracle Can Save Britain Now – A Call to Christian Revival

Only a Miracle Can Save Britain Now

The title on my thumbnail today is Only a Miracle Can Save Britain Now – A Call to Christian Revival. In today’s post, I want to share something that’s been heavy on my heart for some time. I recently came across a tweet by Reverend Brett Murphy that stopped me in my tracks. He wrote:

“If the UK survives the next 20 to 40 years without becoming an Islamic caliphate or succumbing to a total societal collapse, it will only be due to a miracle of God. So few people in Britain are aware of how dangerously close to a precipice this once great nation is. Political solutions to the present quandary can only get us so far. Without a return to the Christian foundation of our lands, we are doomed. It is encouraging to see so many are waking up to this. Let us continue to fervently pray and earnestly work towards making Great Britain Christian again—before it’s too late.”

I couldn’t agree more. We’re watching as Great Britain slowly surrenders its Christian identity. Whether it’s through political compromise, uncontrolled immigration, or a lack of moral clarity, we seem to be slipping into something unrecognisable.

A Nation On The Brink

In a recent blog post I was talking about people being arrested for preaching Jesus in the UK, you can see the post here. We’re told that border controls are improving, that migration will be reduced, and that common sense will be restored. Keir Starmer recently posted about restoring control, but many people—including those commenting directly under his post—see through the façade. The promises being made simply don’t match what we’re witnessing.

Nigel Farage highlighted on his Twitter feed that over 12,000 migrants have crossed the Channel in small boats already this year—with another 400 arriving in just one morning. And with warmer weather, that number is only likely to rise. The government’s strategies, both Labour and Conservative, seem ineffective at best—and deliberately self-destructive at worst.

But the issue goes far deeper than politics.

A Call Back To Christian Foundations

What we really need in this country is not just policy reform—but spiritual revival. We need to return to the biblical principles that once formed the moral bedrock of our nation.

Let’s consider what the Bible says:

John 3:3 – “Jesus answered and said to him, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.’”

That verse changed my life. Before I gave my life to Christ, I was spiritually blind. The Bible didn’t make sense to me. But when I believed, something happened—God’s Spirit opened my eyes. Suddenly, the things of God became clear, and I could see that Christianity works.

2 Corinthians 5:17 – “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

There is real power in the Gospel to transform lives. I recently had the joy of praying with a lady who gave her life to Jesus. Her face changed. A sparkle came into her eye. That’s the born-again experience. That’s what we need across this land—people encountering the living Christ.

Romans 6:4 – “Therefore, we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”

We are called to walk in newness of life. Not just survival or tradition—but resurrection life. The Christian life isn’t just a set of beliefs; it’s a living, breathing relationship with Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 1:3 – “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”

What a powerful truth. Through Jesus’ resurrection, we’ve been born again into a living hope. Not wishful thinking—but a solid, eternal promise that gives us strength, joy, and peace in a broken world.

A Simple Prayer That Can Change Everything

If you’ve read this far and you’re not yet a Christian, I want to invite you to take that step of faith. I made that decision nearly 30 years ago, and it changed my life forever.

Here’s a simple prayer you can say:

“Dear Lord Jesus, I acknowledge You as Lord and Saviour of my life. I repent of all my sins, and I ask You today to take over complete control of every aspect of my life. Amen.”

If you prayed that prayer and meant it, the Bible says you’ve been born again—and the Spirit of God can now live in you.

Closing Thoughts

The truth is, without a miracle, our nation will continue to unravel. But I believe that miracle can happen—if we return to Jesus. If we humble ourselves, pray, and seek God’s face, we can see real transformation in Britain again.
