Royal Marines Perform Baptisms!

The title of my blog post and video today is, Royal Marines perform baptisms! Today I’m reflecting on a heartening report from the Royal Marines’ training centre at Lympstone. Recruits have been attending chapel in growing numbers, and some have chosen to be baptised by full immersion in the training water tanks. In a world that often feels unstable, it’s encouraging to see young men seeking truth, meaning, and a living faith in Jesus Christ.

Why This Matters

I’ve always had deep respect for those who serve. Our Armed Forces willingly stand in the gap to protect our nation. For many, the questions of life, death, and eternity are not theoretical—they’re real. The Christian faith offers a sure hope: forgiveness of sins, peace with God, and eternal life through Jesus Christ.

What’s Being Reported

Recent coverage describes recruits regularly attending church services at CTCRM Lympstone, with some choosing baptism in the water tanks used for training. Whatever the wider cultural climate, there is a quiet revival of interest in the Bible, prayer, and the Christian message among these young men. That’s good news.

What the Bible Says About Baptism (NKJV)

Matthew 28:19–20: “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

Mark 16:16: “He who believes and is baptised will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.”

Acts 2:38: “Then Peter said to them, ‘Repent, and let every one of you be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’”

Romans 6:3–4: “Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptised into Christ Jesus were baptised into His death? Therefore, we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”

A Simple Gospel Invitation

If you’re not yet a Christian and would like to receive Jesus, you can pray this sincerely:

“Dear Lord Jesus, I acknowledge you as Lord and Saviour of my life. I repent of all my sins, and I ask you today to take over complete control of every aspect of my life. Amen.”

If you prayed that prayer and meant it, the born-again Spirit can come and live within you. You can know the joy of forgiveness and the gift of eternal life. Please feel free to leave a comment below—I’m here to help and encourage.
