The title of my video and blog post today is, school lessons exposed! In this post, I respond to a video circulating online in which a young boy comes home from school and says he was taught that “Allah is God” and that He created everything. Whatever your view of that clip, it raises an important question for parents and believers in the UK: what exactly is being taught in our classrooms and assemblies today, and where does Christianity fit?
From Hymns to a New Emphasis
Many of us remember school assemblies with simple songs such as “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands” and the occasional Bible reading. Today, in many places, Christianity is either minimised or treated as one voice among many. As a Christian, I believe children should have the opportunity to learn who God is according to Scripture and to hear the basics of the Christian faith with clarity and respect for others.
What the Bible Says About Raising Children (NKJV)
God’s Word gives clear guidance for parents and churches in shaping a child’s heart and mind.
- Ephesians 6:4
“And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.”
- Colossians 3:21
“Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged.”
- 2 Timothy 3:15
“and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.”
- Matthew 19:14
“But Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.’”
- Luke 18:16–17
“But Jesus called them to Him and said, ‘Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.’”
- Hebrews 12:9–10
“Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect… He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness.”
So the new school year recently went back
And not only is Christianity being phased out.

Why This Matters
Christian values are not just “religious extras”; they are a strong moral framework for life and community. Even people who are not Christians often recognise the practical wisdom of honesty, integrity, respect, personal responsibility, forgiveness, and love of neighbour. These truths are best learned young and lived out over a lifetime.
What Parents Can Do
- Be informed: politely ask your child’s school for clarity about religious education and assemblies.
- Teach at home: read Scripture together, pray, and talk about faith in everyday life.
- Engage graciously: model respect for others while holding fast to biblical truth.
- Be involved in church: encourage your children to learn in a community that loves Jesus and teaches the Bible.
A Simple Prayer
If you would like to put your trust in Jesus Christ today, you can pray sincerely:
“Dear Lord Jesus, I acknowledge You as Lord and Saviour of my life. I repent of all my sins, and I ask You today to take complete control of every aspect of my life. Amen.”
The Bible promises that “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” If you prayed in faith, please let someone know and get connected with a Bible-believing church.
