As we go into the New Year, I have an inspirational motivation with God video below. Our number one priority for 2024 should be to put God first. Matthew 6:33 reads, 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Don’t forget that we have more videos on our YouTube channel.
Put God first and see what happens, it works! Many people say they don’t have time for God, but make time for him now, he is coming back soon! Right now, we are seeing prophecy fulfilled right in front of our very eyes! Seek him now with all your heart and have an expectant faith!
Don’t be a complainer but take time to be thankful for the small and simple things in life. Look at creation, look how amazing it is and then remember that the Lord God created it all! Look at the things that God has given you, look at the wins that you have had. Don’t forget that life is only temporary on this earth, Jesus will come back for his believers soon.
Decisions
Maybe you have big decisions to make in 2024, it’s easy to pick up the phone and call a friend and ask for their advice. But how about calling on the name of Jesus and asking him. Don’t forget you have a direct line to the Almighty; Jeremiah 33:3 reads “3 ‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and [b]mighty things, which you do not know.’” Sometimes we can be worrying about something and we would rather pick up the phone and call a friend, but really, we just need to call on the name of Jesus! He hears our cries for help and he wants to help us!
When you have a decision to make, make sure that it lines up with Scripture. If it doesn’t, don’t do it. Sometimes we need to test the waters and make small steps to see if the door opens! We are better to do something in faith rather than to do nothing at all.
Start The Day With Jesus
Start the day with Jesus, read his word, speak to him and let your paths be directed by him. Proverbs 16:9 a man’s hearts plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.
Remember that God is for you, not against you. Remember that Jesus said in John 10:10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. Many people seem to believe that God is against them, but if you believe in him and follow him, he will direct your paths. He wants you to win in life, he wants you to prosper and be a vessel that lives for him! He wants other people to see the glory of God on you! We need to reflect Jesus to those around us, when the Holy Spirit lives within us, we can do exactly that!
The God Of The Impossible
Sometimes we can look at things and they seem impossible, maybe you just don’t know how you got into a certain situation. But don’t forget that in Matthew 19: 26 Jesus said, “with men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible”! Remember what it says in Jeremiah 32:17 Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too [a]hard for You. Call on my name and I will answer!
Philippians 2:9 – 11 reads, “9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Don’t forget that God can move the mountains, he can do the impossible! Matthew 17:20 – 21 20 So Jesus said to them, “Because of your [e]unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. 21 [f]However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”
Fasting Works
Start the New Year was fasting. We see Matthew 17:21 about prayer and fasting! I know that biblical ways work, I’m going to start the New Year with a 21 day fast, not 21 days without food, but I will be missing out meals and eating once-a-day. You’re welcome to join me, I know that fasting works, if it says in the Bible, that means it’s true and these principles still work today. If you want to break every chain try fasting, don’t leave it another day, start right now and watch what happens!
Fasting isn’t enjoyable, but it enables us to help crucify the flesh and draw nearer to God. It’s no good just to stop eating, all that does is make you feel hungry. We need to use this time as fasting as an opportunity to draw near to God and really seek his kingdom with every ounce of our body!
The Lord’s Prayer
Don’t forget to pray, there is power in prayer which helps to break every chain, let’s have a look at the Lord’s prayer in Matthew six.
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
10 Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
13 And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
[d]For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
And don’t forget what it says after the Lord’s prayer.
14 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Don’t forget to forgive others who have wronged against you! It brings freedom and liberty and is a biblical principle.
We don’t have to do massive long prayers, but we do need to have faith in when we pray. In Hebrews 11:6, it reads “6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
So, we need faith to please God and we need to diligently seek him with all our heart! When we seek first the kingdom of God, it’s life changing, prayer and belief in God changes everything!
Live in the spirit and seeing his glory
When you’re in the spirit you are living a different realm! It’s almost like you’re living in a bubble because you have the glory of God on you. It’s almost like you are living in a secret place and the enemy can’t find you; that is such a great place to be and where every Christian should want to be! You are living in the spirit, you are living in his daily presence, you can live in it right now, only believe!
I see too many people saying I can’t wait until I get to heaven, which we know will be great! However, God wants you to live in this pleasant glory, right now! Remember what the Lord prayer says, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven!
Remember what 2 Corinthians 3:17 – 18 says “17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as [b]by the Spirit of the Lord.
When you really see the glory of the Lord and you are filled with the Holy Spirit, you will never be the same again! Once you see the real glory of God you will never want to go back into the world ever again! Be transformed by the renewing of your mind and let the Holy Spirit take over!
I cannot over emphasise how important it is to be filled with the spirit and seek first the kingdom of God! Too many Christians get sidetracked by the world, but the world has nothing to give, Jesus has everything and gives eternal life for those who believe.
Build Your House On The Rock
Don’t forget to build your house and your life on the rock! In Matthew seven be hear about the wise man who built his house on the rock and a foolish man who built his house on the sand! Be like the wise man and build your life on the solid rock of Jesus and take all the authority that he has given to his believers. If we build our house on the rock, and life will not be destroyed by raging storms. As it says in 1 Samuel 2:2,
“No one is holy like the Lord,
For there is none besides You,
Nor is there any rock like our God.”
Don’t forget that Jesus said that he would never leave us. In Hebrews 13:5 it reads, “ 5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, see the story in Matthew 14 where Jesus walks on water and calls Peter. However, Peter started to look at the storm rather than Jesus, we need to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, not the problem, for Jesus is the problem solver!
It’s good to remember that old chorus that I remember from my childhood, turn your eyes upon Jesus! The chorus reads,
“Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in his wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of his glory and grace”.
These are such true words!
Keep Your Eyes Fixed On Jesus
So, for 2024 and beyond, keep your eyes fixed upon Jesus! And don’t forget, Jesus is coming back for his people very soon, make sure you give your life to him and that you know your final destination!
