Tensions Rise, But.

Tensions Rise But
Tensions Rise But

Yesterday, the title of my blog post was, insanity; today, the title of my post is tensions rise, but. Earlier today, I was looking at the news, we see all sorts of news stories regarding tensions rising up across the world etc. It may be in business, or regarding world peace or even just family tension. I’m thankful that I’m a Christian, I’m thankful that I know Jesus, I know that for the Christians, he has given us future and eternal life. I’m also thankful that he hasn’t given us a spirit of fear but a sound mind, which is fantastic.

I was looking in John 10:10 again as I was looking the other day. These are the words that Jesus said.

“10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

Despite what’s going on in the world, we need to look to Jesus, as the thief came to steal and destroy, but Jesus came to give life! When we have negative situations, we need to be positive and remember that Jesus has come to give life in abundance and eternal life.

News Headlines

I was looking at a few news headlines and various tensions that people are under earlier on today. You can see this headline here, stressed out, unrealistic expectations put the pressure on workers. Many workers and manager’s are under so much pressure to reach targets and deadlines, it’s not always easy. And then we can see here China and the West grind apart as tensions grow? Another headline, “a world in crisis: the winter wars of 2022 – 2023. Another headline I saw was that North Korea fires a missile after threatening retaliation.

We are saying all sorts of things going on in the world that don’t always make for good reading. The great thing is that we can be thankful we are Christians that we know the truth that sets us free!

Rumours Of Wars

Here in Matthew 24 verses 6-8 we read the following.

“6 And you will hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that you are not troubled; for [a]all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, [b]pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.”

As we can see that the Bible talks about wars and rumours of wars, but it tells us not to be troubled as these things will happen. It also talks about earthquakes, as we have seen so many earthquakes in the last couple of years and especially in the last couple of weeks.

In John 14:27, it reads.

“27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

He Was Wounded For Us

I think it’s fantastic that Jesus says peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you! They are such powerful words that we need to take hold of! We should not let our hearts be troubled or afraid!

In Isaiah 53:5 – 6, it reads.

“5 But He was wounded[k] for our transgressions,
He was [l]bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes[m] we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray;
We have turned, every one, to his own way;
And the Lord [n]has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.”

Such wonderful and true words are spoken in Isaiah. It’s amazing that it was prophesied that Jesus would be wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement for our peace was upon him, so in other words, Jesus took it all!

Here we have another scripture in Isaiah 26:3 – 4, which reads.

“3 You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You.
4 Trust in the Lord forever,
For in Yah, the Lord, is [b]everlasting strength.

Once again, more powerful words, we need to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. We don’t look to the problem; we look to the problem solver. We keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, knowing that he is with us every step of the way and he has given us eternal life.

Do Not Be Anxious For Anything

And finally, we come to Philippines 4:6 – 7, which reads.

6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Remember, Tensions Rise, But!

Once again, these are more powerful words from Scripture. The Bible says that we need to be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication. Let’s be grateful and let our requests be known to God and let the peace of God be upon us. Such amazing words. Remember, tensions rise, but!
