Put On The Voice Of Praise!

Put On The Voice Of Praise!
Put On The Voice Of Praise!

Today I would like to talk to you about putting on The Voice of praise! I don’t know about you, but some Christians don’t always put on the voice of praise; I can also be guilty of this!

I was looking at the news briefly this morning, and I saw the headline, “Manchester bomber friend known to M 15, BBC reveals. We can see many people here who sadly lost their lives; it was a terrible thing! It seems rather ridiculous that the Manchester bomber friend was known to the police and yet still running loose! If we are not careful, these types of stories can potentially bring us down.

However, we have to be thankful and remember that Jesus came to bring life and life abundantly, the thief came to steal and destroy. Here is another story in the Telegraph about the Ukraine war and all the things that are going on there. And here, over on telegram, sadly there was a Jewish Man killed in the city of Jericho while on a short trip to Israel for a friend’s wedding. And then, we can see a Ukrainian attack on a Russian oil refinery.

Now something that’s a bit brighter, which I came across the other day on the BBC local news in Suffolk. The headline reads, “Lost cat in 2020 found asleep on bird table near Beccles, in Suffolk”! Barbara, the cat, is alive!

Seriously though, it’s nice to see a bright news story for a change, but it’s also good to remember that Jesus came to give life and life abundantly. As Christians, we need to put on the voice of praise and remember that when we said yes to Jesus, he gave us the gift of eternal life! The fact that he has given us eternal life and we are never going to lose our life. I appreciate that we will lose our life on this earth unless Jesus potentially returns, which he could well do. Just to know that death has been beaten on the cross is such a wonderful thing and he took our sins! How amazing is that?!

I showed you a few news stories earlier, with all sorts of things going on in the world; however, we still have a lot to be thankful for!!

Let’s have a look at Psalm 100 which reads.

“Make a joyful shout to the Lord, [a]all you lands!
2 Serve the Lord with gladness;
Come before His presence with singing.
3 Know that the Lord, He is God;
It is He who has made us, and [b]not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
5 For the Lord is good;
His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all generations.

Now we are looking at some very powerful and true words from Psalm 100. We reflected on Psalm 100 every day or even every hour or possibly every minute; what a difference that would make. It is wonderful that Jesus has come to set the captives free.

Let’s have a look at Proverbs 18:21 which reads.

“21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
And those who love it will eat its fruit.”

So can I suggest today-maybe you’re going through a bad situation, but remember there is power in the name of Jesus to break everything that is against us. There is power in the name of Jesus to break everything that we are concerned about. We need to look to the problem solver and that is Jesus! He can break every chain and turn every situation around.

Did you know that the happiest people on earth are spirit-filled Christians? This is because they have the joy of the Lord. Maybe you’re Christian and you’re not feeling that joyful. Maybe today is to put on the full armour of God and the voice of praise.

Let’s have a look at the Scripture in Acts 4:24, which reads,

“24 So when they heard that, they raised their voice to God with one accord and said: “Lord, You are God, who made heaven and earth and the sea, and all that is in them.”

The Lord is good he created the heavens and the earth and the sea, and he’s given us eternal life; what more can we ask for? The Bible says that things will come against us and that we will have trials. However, the believer has been given the power to overcome and to speak positive words over lives and put on the armour of God. And, of course, to remember that this is the day that the Lord has made, and we will rejoice in it.
